when i was younger (8th-9th grade) i was a vegetarian. i did it for the wrong reasons though, and truth be told, i probably wouldn’t do it again. however, i saw this video on youtube recently and i don’t really want to eat chicken anymore. i was just watching how much effort it took for this lil chick to get itself out of the egg, pecking and pecking at the shell and finally freeing himself….i don’t know how to articulate it without having it come out weird but i guess i feel guilty for taking that away when i eventually eat it.
i will still eat eggs though, so self-righteous vegans can gtfo with that argument.

Hey. Hey.
As a self-righteous vegan, I would like to say that my problem with eggs is how the chickens who lay them are treated. They stuff as many as can possibly fit into a tiny wire cage where they’ll never fully spread their wings or see the light of day, where they’ll be standing for literally their entire lives, laying as many eggs as can be squeezed out of them, force molted until they can’t possibly lay any more, and then slaughtered to be made into dog food or broth. Not to mention that they’re malnourished, usually diseased, and that their feet are crippled from the wires they’re forced to stand on. And that is why I don’t eat eggs.
(I love you LES.)
